ISKCON Soro: Food For Life Program

Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON, profoundly stated, “The Krishna Consciousness movement is based on this principle: chant Hare Krishna as much as possible and distribute Prasadam. If we believe that Krishna is providing and maintaining everyone, then why should we be misers? This means losing faith in Krishna and thinking that we are the doers and suppliers. We are confident that Krishna will supply! Let the whole world come; we can feed them.”

Inspired by Srila Prabhupada’s words, ISKCON Soro proudly runs the “Food For Life” program, a unique free food distribution initiative aimed at spreading peace and prosperity through the liberal distribution of Krishna Prasadam and Sankirtan.

About the Food For Life Program

Food For Life is an essential activity of ISKCON Soro, driven by the desire to nourish both body and soul. The program provides first-class vegetarian meals to everyone, ensuring that physical hunger is alleviated with high-quality, nutritious food. What makes this initiative truly special is that the meals are prepared by temple devotees with love and devotion, and offered to Lord Krishna before distribution. This process transforms the food into Krishna Prasadam, spiritual nourishment that purifies and uplifts those who partake.

In the Bhagavad Gita, it is stated, “The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food which is offered first for sacrifice.
